Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technician to join our team at Amergis. This role involves performing diagnostic cardiovascular imaging and echocardiography examinations under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic cardiovascular and echocardiography ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Identify and document internal body structures, including blood vessels and organs, noting any anomalies that may indicate medical conditions.
  • Execute imaging and non-imaging cardiovascular assessments, such as exercise tolerance tests, Holter monitoring, and stress tests.
  • Adjust imaging equipment and explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and minimize test artifacts.
  • Monitor patients for any significant physical or emotional changes during examinations.
  • Recognize abnormal rhythms and promptly inform the supervising physician; evaluate test results for accuracy and clarity.
  • Communicate preliminary findings to physicians as required and distribute completed test results to relevant healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including diagnosis and billing codes, and ensure data is logged into patient information systems.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and work areas.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs as necessary.
  • Provide patients with pretest instructions and address any questions regarding procedures.
  • Prepare patient rooms and maintain inventory of necessary supplies.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or relevant experience in a related field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience as a Cardiovascular Technician is preferred.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Current CPR certification, if applicable.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in the English language are required.
  • Computer proficiency is essential.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
