About the Position

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced transportation planning professional to join our team at The Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). As a Senior Transportation Planning Scientist/Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing our research and development efforts in transportation planning, programming, and project development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex research projects, including project planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Develop and implement innovative transportation planning solutions, including data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address transportation planning challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and academic institutions.
  • Prepare and present research findings and recommendations to sponsors, stakeholders, and other audiences.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, Economics, or related field.
  • At least 8 years of directly related work experience in transportation planning, research, and development.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing research proposals, securing contracts and grants, and managing projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to find solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Engineering, Planning, or related field.
  • 9 years of directly related work experience in research and development.
  • Experience in data modeling, database design, and GIS.
