Typical Work Schedule: Weekdays (7:30am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday, with rotating shifts)

Primary Shift: Shift 1

Work Type: Full-time (1.0 FTE, 80 hours biweekly)

SUMMARY

The Patient Financial Services Associate operates under the guidance of the Customer Service Team Leader and the Customer Service Manager, maintaining direct communication with our patient demographic.

This role employs both inbound and outbound communication techniques to deliver outstanding customer support primarily via telephone to all clients of Evangelical Community Hospital (ECH) and Evangelical Medical Services Organization (EMSO).

The associate will assist clients with inquiries related to coverage and claims, accurately interpreting benefits and policy details for all insurance products accepted at ECH/EMSO facilities, facilitating account resolution.

Conducting necessary research and follow-up with various departments within the ECH/EMSO organizations is essential to ensure prompt resolution of disputed claims to the satisfaction of patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years of experience in Revenue Cycle Billing and/or Collections is necessary; experience in healthcare is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, either through coursework or hands-on experience in a healthcare setting, is also preferred. Coding or patient access experience will not be accepted in lieu of billing/collections experience.
  • Experience in interpreting Payer Contracts and accurately determining payments on patient accounts is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for data entry, report review, sorting/filtering, and document management is preferred.
  • Completion of a Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance, and an FBI criminal history check is required.

  • Frequent interruptions, crowded conditions, or excessive noise (80.00%)
  • Lifting, pushing, and pulling materials up to 15lbs (10.00%)
  • Must possess the ability to see/hear, or utilize prosthetics (100.00%)
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods (65.00%)
