Position Overview: We are in search of a proficient Underground Utility Cost Estimator. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of underground utility construction and estimation methodologies. This position presents a unique opportunity to engage in diverse projects while collaborating closely with company leadership and project managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate project documentation, including plans, specifications, and drawings to ascertain the extent of underground utility work needed.
  • Perform site evaluations and assessments to collect pertinent information for precise estimations.
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for underground utility projects, encompassing materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Work alongside project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate bidding.
  • Employ industry-standard software and tools for quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
  • Remain updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices pertinent to underground utility construction.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in underground utility estimation, with a robust understanding of construction principles and practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications effectively.
  • Strong mathematical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with team members and clients.
  • Familiarity with estimation software such as Bluebeam, HCSS, or similar applications.
  • Awareness of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards related to underground utility construction.
