We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our team at JD Finish Line, a leading retailer of athletic footwear and apparel. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will play a key role in driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and maintaining a high level of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager in all aspects of daily shift management, including customer relations, inventory control, procedural tasks, and paperwork.

  • Maintain individual and shift sales, providing daily floor coverage and training sales associates.

  • Supervise point-of-sale operations, provide security and loss prevention, and oversee contest management.

  • Organize shipments, transfers, and merchandise, ensuring efficient stock flow and maintaining company standards.

  • Perform maintenance tasks, open and close the store, and ensure minimum sales volumes are met.

  • Hold accountability for store sales and metrics, taking a lead role in sales and selling practices.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires standing for approximately 5-8 hours per day, usually 3-5 days per week, including nights and weekends.

  • During peak periods, work for long periods throughout a 1-12 hour day.

  • Requires stooping, kneeling, reaching, and pulling to obtain or stock merchandise.

  • May be required to climb a ladder or ascend/descend stairs to stock and/or acquire merchandise.

  • Required to lift items weighing 5-25 lbs regularly, with occasional heavier weights.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and supervise staff.

  • Must be able to see and differentiate colors.

  • Required to work an average of 48 hours per week.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1-2 years of retail management experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods.
