Job Overview

The Residential Mortgage Consultant plays a crucial role in promoting Seacoast Bank's home financing solutions beyond the bank's premises. This position focuses on establishing referral networks with real estate professionals, builders, and other external sources, while also fostering relationships with internal partners to enhance existing client connections. The role is pivotal in driving business growth in residential lending and attracting new deposits, particularly in the targeted markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively within the first 90 days with various departments including Loan Processing, Underwriting, and Closing to gain a comprehensive understanding of operational processes.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with leadership and mentors to align on expectations and objectives.
  • Actively seek out business opportunities and engage in sales activities within real estate and construction environments.
  • Meet clients in person during the application process, facilitating a smoother experience by conducting meetings at convenient locations.
  • Provide essential mortgage information to real estate professionals.
  • Guide borrowers through the application process, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and reviewed.
  • Evaluate documents to confirm eligibility and submit qualified applications for processing.
  • Develop strong partnerships with internal teams to enhance existing relationships and treat internal referrals with the same enthusiasm as external ones.
  • Participate in closings, open houses, and networking events to generate business and maintain a consistent production level.
  • Keep accurate records of calls and maintain a prospective loan sales pipeline.
  • Accept loan applications while ensuring compliance with Fair Lending standards and maintaining ethical sales practices.
  • Adhere to Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • A college degree in a finance-related field is preferred.
  • Experience in the local market is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years in origination, processing, underwriting, or closing is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business development or financial services is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Proficiency in using various technology platforms and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
  • This role may require after-hours and weekend commitments.
