Job Summary

The Architect I is a key member of our design team, responsible for assisting in the technical design aspects of assigned projects. Under the direction of the Project Architect or Project Manager, this role is competent in all conventional aspects of architecture and the production of high-quality project design, as well as documentation on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Cooper Carry's guidelines and meet deadlines within budget for each project.
  • Maintain knowledge of Cooper Carry projects and resources.
  • Demonstrate architectural skills to include drawing, rendering, visual and presentation skills utilizing internal resources.
  • Perform analyses of design, planning, and occupancy studies, and limited design layouts.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and consultant/contractor representatives.
  • Demonstrate competency with required computer software to produce complete high-quality drawings.
  • Assist Project Architect in coordinating necessary tasks for a variety of projects.
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of all project-related assignments.
  • Prepare and produce drawings, design and construction documents.
  • Develop a strong understanding of building systems, codes, and construction methods.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment.
  • Conduct research as needed.
  • Participate in contract administration as required.
  • Guide less experienced Designers.
  • Travel to project job sites or design offices as required to facilitate design and construction under the direction of the Project Architect.
  • Contribute to the overall quality and success of the project, studio, and firm.
  • Review and assist with reports and specifications.
  • Review completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations.
Qualifications
  • Registered Architect.
  • 3-5+ years' experience in a related field.
  • Graduate of an accredited architectural program with a Bachelor's or Master's level degree.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and documentation.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands
  • Majority of time is spent in a sitting position.
  • Ability to move throughout the office either by walking or through assisted means.
  • Minimal lifting requirements for this position.
  • Some activities may require standing, bending, and stooping for short periods of time.
