Job Summary

The Laboratory Analyst II is a key member of our team at Microbac, responsible for conducting standard chemical and/or biological tests and analyzing results to determine composition, reactions, and chemical and/or physical properties of a variety of sample types.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sample Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and process samples, and collect information about the composition of substances to support the analytical testing needs of clients.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Utilize specialized laboratory equipment and instrumentation to process and analyze samples, and perform equipment and instrumentation set up.
  • Data Recording and Interpretation: Accurately record observations and data, and basic interpretation of data, and maintain the integrity of procedures and record professional activity for peer review.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Comply with and promote Safety, and Quality programs, and perform peer review and work with the QA team to maintain up to date SOPs.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform necessary laboratory administrative functions such as filing paperwork, photocopying, reviewing of data, and entering data into computerized LIMS.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited institution in a related field of applied science; plus two or more years of related experience; or six plus years of related laboratory experience with no degree.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of principles, terminology, practices, techniques and instrumentation commonly used in a laboratory setting, ability to interpret data, record observations, prepare reports, and perform peer review, and ability to effectively prioritize work and manage time to meet deadlines and rush orders.
