Key Responsibilities:

As a seasoned urban planner, you will:

  • Lead and develop the Midlands Planning Team.
  • Enhance client relationships to secure high-quality planning permissions and allocations.
  • Collaborate closely with JLL's multi-sector offices.
  • Contribute to the UK Planning Team's initiatives.

Daily Activities:

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Birmingham Planning Team, providing support and motivation.
  • Establishing a robust planning business by fostering internal relationships to expand opportunities.
  • Engaging with both new and existing clients to drive revenue growth.
  • Participating actively in the UK Planning Team.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A proven track record as a skilled urban planner.
  • A commercial mindset with an understanding of market dynamics.
  • Expertise in business development to enhance revenue and promote the team.
  • Technical experience in diverse projects, including mixed-use, commercial, and residential developments.
  • Leadership skills to build and manage a high-performing Midlands/Birmingham Planning Team.
  • Strong communication abilities to collaborate across various JLL business lines.

Essential Experience:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant qualifications as a town planner (MRTPI).
  • A focus on nurturing talent and succession planning.
  • A well-established reputation and client network within the Midlands region.
  • Experience in navigating complex projects and addressing challenging constraints.
  • Proficiency in negotiating development agreements.
  • Experience as an Expert Witness.
  • Strong organizational and team management skills.
  • A commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles.
