Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Grooming Technician to join our team at Tractor Supply Company. As a Grooming Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional pet grooming services to our customers, ensuring their pets receive the highest level of care and attention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enroll and complete the Paragon training program for Level 1 (Groom Tech) within the required timeline of five weeks.
  • Provide safe and gentle pet handling, bathing, drying, brushing, and combing services for dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
  • Trim nails, clean ears, and perform basic clipper techniques and finishing techniques.
  • Offer exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for our customers and their pets.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company safety training and guidelines.
  • Assist in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, and verifying vaccinations.
  • Operate computer systems, cash registers, and other store equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be comfortable working with dogs and cats, demonstrating patience and compassion for animals.
  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and customers.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions

Working environment is favorable, generally working inside with moderate noise. Exposure to sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste. Exposure to wet conditions, particularly when bathing dogs. Exposure to cats and dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.

Physical Requirements

Ability to move and transfer live animals, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and maintain a stationary position for up to 8 hours while grooming animals. Ability to frequently move for 4-8 hours per day around the salon to groom animals, clean, and maintain the salon.
