Job Summary

This role is responsible for enrolling and completing the Paragon training program, a 15-week virtual learning experience that educates students on the fundamentals of bathing and grooming, while also providing basic skills in safety, pet first aid, and CPR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enroll and complete the Paragon training program within the required timeline
  • Develop skills in safe pet handling, bathing, drying, brushing, and combing all coat types
  • Perform nail trimming, ear cleaning, preparatory hair trimming, basic clipper techniques, and basic finishing techniques
  • Provide excellent customer service skills and demonstrate professionalism
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of animals, including inspecting for external signs of parasites, disease, or injury and reporting findings to pet owners
  • Practice safety and sanitization protocols, including sanitizing and maintaining grooming tools and equipment
  • Assist in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, and verifying vaccinations
  • Maintain records of pet clients, including services provided and vaccination records
Requirements
  • Must be comfortable working with dogs and cats and demonstrate patience and compassion for animals
  • Must provide own tools (clippers, blades, shears) or be willing to purchase required tools
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with team members and customers
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels. Exposure to sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste is expected. Work shifts may vary, but generally, are no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
