Job Summary:

Mountain View Hospital is seeking a highly skilled NICU Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care to our infant patients. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Comprehensive Patient Care: Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for infants in the NICU, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with obstetricians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Operate and Maintain Equipment: Troubleshoot and maintain NICU equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and safely.
  • Consult with Parents/Guardians: Educate and support parents/guardians on aftercare, long-term health management, and basic infant care, including breastfeeding, hygiene, and safety.
  • Perform Diagnostic Tests: Conduct tests ordered by obstetricians or nurse practitioners, evaluate results, and provide recommendations for further care.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess in-depth knowledge of medications, their administration, and age-specific clinical conditions. Demonstrate proficiency in performing vital signs, initial admissions, and head-to-toe assessments on preterm, term, and post-term infants.
  • Family-Centered Care: Provide compassionate, family-centered care, prioritizing the emotional and psychological well-being of infants and their families.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of equipment related to infant support and care in the NICU, including respiratory management, chest tubes, central lines, cooling, and more.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation: Assess neonates at delivery and perform neonatal resuscitation according to current guidelines.
