The Leidos Office of Technology, which supports the Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA), is in search of a dedicated Cybersecurity Research Specialist to become part of a diverse team of experts engaged in an internal research and development initiative centered on CNO.


The ideal candidate will utilize their proficiency in two or more of the following domains to tackle some of the most intricate challenges within the Cyber realm: Embedded Development, Vulnerability Analysis, Reverse Engineering, Software and/or Hardware Engineering, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, and/or Advanced Networking.


This position will foster the expansion of Cyber capabilities for Leidos and CABA, requiring an individual who can effectively engage in various projects, create proof of concepts, and contribute to or lead demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Conducting Reverse Engineering and Vulnerability Analysis.
- Investigating innovative hardware or software-based CNO capabilities.
- Applying expertise in security principles and network systems.
- Analyzing systems to identify new features, vulnerabilities, and methodologies.


Minimum Qualifications:


- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with 4 to 8 years of relevant experience focused on low-level development and CNO.


- Experience in at least three of the following areas is preferred:
- Embedded systems experience, including driver and kernel-level work.
- Proficiency in Linux and Android environments.
- System-level programming or development of embedded systems.
- Expertise in C/C++ and Assembly for x86, PowerPC, MIPS, or ARM architectures.
- Experience in reverse engineering hardware, firmware, and software.
- Familiarity with tools such as Ghidra, IDA Pro, Radare, Rizin, or Binary Ninja.
- Background in vulnerability research and the use of fuzzing tools.
- Knowledge of network programming and protocols.
- Scripting experience with Python, Ruby, or JavaScript for generating and demonstrating prototypes and proof of concepts.
- Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret Security Clearance and the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI with Poly.


Preferred Qualifications:
- US Citizenship and a TS/SCI with Poly Security Clearance.

Familiarity with various Linux distributions, Real-Time Operating Systems (e.g., VxWorks, Integrity, QNX), or POSIX-compliant Operating Systems like Solaris or BSD.

Experience with commercial or open-source signal and protocol analyzers.

Understanding of advanced networking concepts and communication systems.

Experience with network testing equipment such as Spirent/Ixia/Xena.

Knowledge of platform virtualization and emulation.

Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts.
