Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Colonial Downs + Rosie's Gaming Emporium. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional leadership and support to our kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Executive Chef in monitoring kitchen activities and expediting orders to ensure quality taste and presentation.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking, ensuring that meals are prepared to meet the specifications of our guests in a timely manner.
- Manage kitchen inventory and ensure that supplies are fresh and of high quality.
- Ensure proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward.
- Keep the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized, and sanitized.
- Take charge of kitchen opening, closing, and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef.
- Culinary degree plus three (3) years of culinary experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience as a manager or supervisor in a high-volume complex hospitality environment is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional cooking skills and ability to effectively manage the kitchen staff.
- Familiarity with health and safety standards and knowledge of the best practices in the hotel and catering services industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Point of Sale, and restaurant management software.
