Job Summary
The Line Cook is a key member of our kitchen team at The Rose Gaming Resort. This role is responsible for providing high-quality food preparation and presentation to our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Sous Chef in monitoring kitchen activities and expediting orders to ensure quality taste and presentation.
- Prepare hot and cold food items according to standard operating procedures.
- Perform prep work and deliver finished food products, including stocking and setting up kitchen stations, preparing ingredients, and plating prepared foods.
- Work with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to food safety standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience in line cooking.
- Must have experience in grilling, broiling, sautéing, and steaming.
- Experience in training staff is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and coordinate cooking times with co-workers.
Certifications and Licenses
- Virginia Racing Commission License.
- Valid Driver's License with a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this role include frequent standing, walking, and use of hands to handle objects. The employee may also be required to lift, push, and pull up to 25lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
