Payment Strategy and Operations Analyst

Job Summary:

As a Payment Strategy and Operations Analyst at American Airlines Inc, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate billing of customers. You will be responsible for analyzing data related to payment processing, operations, and fees, as well as identifying process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily monitoring and analysis of credit card processing volumes to ensure accurate billing and minimize losses.
  • Research exception items, including issue identification and underlying trends.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to summarize and communicate operational metrics.
  • Assist with transaction-level processing, such as rejects and exceptions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to coordinate resolutions on production problems, cost reduction initiatives, and associated payments reporting/policy/fraud issues.
  • Maintain relationships with domestic and international credit card schemes, processors, and other payment partners.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Payment product delivery team related to technology projects and production issues.
  • Assist with other payments-related work, such as gift card fulfillment.
  • Summarize and communicate issue findings to leadership and make recommendations for improvements to team procedures and reporting.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of related work experience in a similar field/position.
  • Advanced knowledge of credit card processing, fraud, chargebacks, payment industry trends, and other payment-related operations.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or other relevant field, or equivalent experience/training.
