Job Summary

The Patient Advocate role at Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is a dynamic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of uninsured hospital patients. As a key member of our team, you will serve as a liaison between patients, hospitals, and government agencies to connect individuals with programs that cover their medical expenses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine eligibility for federal, state, and county medical or disability assistance
  • Complete applications and follow through until approved
  • Provide detailed, accurate, and timely documentation in company programs and hospital systems
  • Offer exceptional customer service skills at all times
  • Participate in ongoing trainings to stay up-to-date on content and apply it effectively in dealings with patients and cases
  • Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, make outbound calls, and track paperwork necessary for enrollment and renewal of prospective Medicaid patients
Requirements
  • Some college coursework preferred
  • Prior hospital experience preferred
  • Adaptability when dealing with changing processes, computer systems, and government programs
  • Professional experience working with state and federal programs
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to maneuver throughout the hospital and patients' rooms
  • Proficient experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and Outlook
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment
