Job Title: Construction Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Jobot. As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating full estimating packages for construction projects, including the calculation of material quantities and labor costs.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and coordinating full estimating packages for construction projects, including the calculation of material quantities and labor costs.
  • Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects or services.
  • Conducting risk analysis, identifying potential issues, and providing possible solutions.
  • Participating in the proposal presentation to clients, offering insight on cost, feasibility, and duration of the project.
  • Liaising with architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to formulate accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all estimations, tracking changes in design, updated drawings, and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Providing regular reports and updates to management on the status of current and upcoming projects.
  • Assisting in the negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that all aspects of the project are covered in the contract terms.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the commercial construction industry.
  • Proven experience with Estimator or equivalent software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and accurately.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional certification, such as a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), is a plus.
