Job Summary

Platinum Dermatology Partners is seeking a skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical staff in a fast-paced dermatology office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Escort patients to and from exam rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience
Enter medical histories and prescriptions into our electronic medical record system
Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing top-notch support and care
Perform extractions, injections, and other patient treatments, adhering to strict medical protocols
Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments as needed
Educate patients and respond to their questions in a professional and compassionate manner
Document all medical instructions given to patients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies

Requirements

Certification preferred (e.g., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician)
Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office, with prior dermatology experience a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor and appearance
Knowledge of medical dermatology terms, CPT, and ICD-10
Ability to prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek information or advice

Work Environment

Our office is a well-lighted medical environment, with occasional evening and weekend work. You will be working with standard office equipment, including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, and telephones. You must possess the manual dexterity to operate these machines, as well as the ability to stoop, bend, and handle files and supplies. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
