Job Summary:

Interstate Waste Services is seeking a highly skilled Route Supervisor to oversee the collections activities in one or more lines of business. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising drivers and helpers, working with the Operations Manager to implement tactical initiatives, and ensuring adherence to all accident prevention programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety: Provide leadership to achieve and communicate about safety goals and objectives, work to remove unsafe conditions or situations from drivers' routes, and partner with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment remains in working order and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Customer Experience: Provide service to all customers that meet or exceed customer expectations with regard to the entire customer experience, understand missed pickup goals and meet or exceed expectations related to those goals, and resolve unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes with timely communications to all stakeholders.
  • Efficiency: Establish productivity goals where needed, ensure adherence to operating standards, and manage labor hours and disposal expenses per established and agreed plans.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to utilize technology in the form of a tablet and/or computer.
  • High school/GED education completed, higher education is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds.
