Role Summary:

The Cashier is responsible for managing customer transactions efficiently at the point of sale, while also providing essential support throughout the store.

Supervisory Duties:
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome customers upon entry to the store.
  • Accurately operate the cash register using various input methods.
  • Process payments in cash, checks, or credit/debit cards.
  • Assist customers in finding products and answering inquiries regarding items and pricing.
  • Maintain organized workspaces, including transaction records.
  • Ensure transaction accuracy by reconciling cash register balances at the start and end of shifts.
  • Handle returns and exchanges following company policies.
  • Address customer complaints and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Support inventory management by restocking shelves and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Participate in all required training sessions and team meetings.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in operating cash handling equipment.
  • Basic math skills for transactions and refunds.
  • Familiarity with company products and customer service policies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of on-the-job training is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while working at the cash register.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 80 pounds.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks over long durations.
