Nursing Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services in Pontotoc, Mississippi.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide routine patient care within an assigned unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Assist with patient's plan of care by providing and/or assisting with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, mobility, and comfort
  • Effectively coordinate daily patient care activities on the nursing unit
  • Assist nursing staff to facilitate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
  • Perform a variety of duties both within and in support of assigned unit as delegated by nursing staff
  • Inventory Control: Order, stock, and replenish unit supplies and necessary equipment in a cost-efficient manner
  • Participate in identifying unit financial responsibility during budget preparation
  • Assist with keeping unit within its budget restraints
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate unit communication, including telephones, intercom system, call light system, computers, etc.
  • Direct communication among visitors, employees, and physicians within assigned unit
  • Welcome visitors to the unit by greeting them, answering questions, giving directions, and referring inquiries as appropriate to nursing staff
  • Answer telephone and direct calls and inquiries to the appropriate department or staff member
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and healthcare team
Requirements:
  • Comply with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statutes
  • Maintain confidentiality by protecting personal healthcare information of all patients
