North Mississippi Health Services is in search of a Per Diem / PRN Nurse for the role of Nursing Home Assistant in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Patient Care Responsibilities:

* Execute tasks associated with standard patient care within a designated unit under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

* Support the patient's care plan by assisting with daily living activities, which may include personal hygiene, mobility, and overall comfort.

* Efficiently coordinate daily patient care tasks on the nursing unit.

* Aid nursing personnel in facilitating patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.

* Undertake various duties within the assigned unit as delegated by nursing staff.

* Respond to patient requests and alert appropriate personnel when necessary.

* Assist patients in fulfilling their nutritional requirements, including feeding and providing fluids and supplements.

Inventory Management:

* Order, stock, and replenish unit supplies and essential equipment in a cost-effective manner.

* Engage in identifying unit financial responsibilities during budget planning.

* Assist in maintaining the unit within its budgetary limits.

Communication Skills:

* Facilitate communication within the unit, utilizing telephones, intercom systems, call light systems, and computers, relaying information as necessary.

* Convey patient information, concerns, or issues to the relevant interdisciplinary team members.

* Direct communication among visitors, staff, and physicians within the assigned unit.

Customer Service Excellence:

* Greet visitors warmly, addressing inquiries and directing them to nursing staff as appropriate.

* Manage telephone communications, directing calls and inquiries to the suitable department or staff member.

* Maintain a polite and friendly demeanor in all interactions, whether in person or over the phone.

* Ensure a safe and clean environment for both patients and healthcare teams.

Documentation Practices:

* Record care provided using worksheets and/or electronic medical records.

Regulatory Compliance:

* Adhere to professional standards, behavioral expectations, and hospital policies as established by the organization.

* Comply with relevant Local/State/Federal policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, and laws.

* Safeguard confidentiality by protecting the personal healthcare information of all patients.
