Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Resurgens Orthopaedics. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complete physical exams, pre-operative and post-operative evaluations, and record findings.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, establish a diagnosis, and determine a treatment plan.
  • Implement necessary ancillaries, order additional studies or laboratory evaluations, and consult with specialists as needed.
  • Assist in reduction of fractures and dislocations, provide minor office surgical care, and apply and remove casts, splints, and immobilizing devices.
  • Administer injections, immunizations, oral medications, and other clinic procedures.
  • Prepare written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances and authorize prescription refills.
  • Assist physicians in the application of specialized orthopedic devices and fit and measure for braces and orthopedic devices.
  • Provide patient education and instruction on medications and treatment instructions.
  • Triage patient telephone calls, answer questions, and provide consultation and education to patients and personal representatives.
  • Provide monitoring and continuity of care, perform independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations, and conduct hospital rounds.
  • Obtain complete pre-operative medical history and physical data, acquire proper surgical equipment, and assist in surgery.
  • Dictate discharge summaries, histories, and physicals, and maintain a log of all surgical procedures.
  • Take first call for the physician, make emergency room evaluations, and inpatient consultations.
  • Provide supporting documentation and coding information for all health care services provided, attend required meetings, and participate in committees as requested.
  • Participate in professional development activities, maintain professional affiliations, and protect patient privacy in compliance with HIPAA Privacy Regulations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current and active licenses and certifications.
  • Excellent customer service skills, demonstrated conflict management skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail, and operating room experience preferred.
