Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and inspect finished goods, work in progress, raw materials, and purchased components for conformance to specifications.
- Assist operators with daily quality issues, training, and problem-solving.
- Interact with product/manufacturing engineering and operations personnel to investigate and resolve quality issues to maintain high product quality levels.
- Perform internal quality system audits.
- Quality data entry/analysis as required; maintain quality records; develop/maintain/communicate quality metrics.
- Assist/coordinate quality training for operators.
- Create/maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering to determine inspection criteria of product.
- Test products and materials as required.
- Ability to assist with implementation/maintenance/improvement of quality systems necessary to support ISO 9001 compliance.
- Maintain PPAP samples.
- Complete quality system project work as assigned.
- High school diploma required; some secondary education preferred.
- Prior experience in a quality assurance function in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the use of current technology.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
- Proficient with most common types of measuring devices (calipers, height gages, micrometer, etc).
- Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English.
The working environment for this position will mostly be on the floor in the production arena. This will occupy 80% or more of the person's time. There will be a small amount of standard office environment (no more than 20%). The plant environment is partially climate controlled and may include on occasion, exposure to heat, cold, noise, plastic machining debris, and odors. Personal protective equipment is required in appropriate areas.
