Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager to join our team at Alliance Group Technologies. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for the efficient procurement, storage, and distribution of materials used in electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for material procurement, storage, and distribution.
  • Look for efficiencies in process and procedure and actively work with stakeholders to drive solutions.
  • Solve problems at your level and collaborate with project managers, construction managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to forecast material needs.
  • Coordinate with logistics and transportation providers to facilitate timely delivery of materials to project sites.
  • Maintain tracking of material/conex location on job laydown sites and maintain/organize staging area material.
  • Work with supply chain on sourcing events for materials from suppliers, assist with negotiating pricing, and review supplier contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Oversee receiving, inspection, and storage processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality standards, and regulations.
  • Maintain, organize inventory levels packaged in conex boxes and track material usage to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Travel to job sites to inspect conex box and material setups, looking for improvements or deficiencies with how labor crews are managing usage of materials during execution.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide required reporting for tracking and status, and provide executive updates as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, construction managers, and leadership when issues, concerns, or opportunities arise.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in material management, procurement, or supply chain roles within the electrical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical/civil materials, components, and equipment.
  • Strong proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards related to material handling and storage in the electrical industry.
