Position Overview

The Clinical Laboratory Specialist plays a crucial role in the evaluation of laboratory samples, executing tests, and documenting results in accordance with established laboratory standards and protocols.

Our laboratory team is vital in delivering precise diagnoses, influencing treatment strategies, and enhancing patient care outcomes. With a focus on meticulous testing and data analysis, our professionals ensure the highest quality control standards are met. This position requires evening shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, including a rotation every fourth weekend.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • An associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical laboratory internship experience.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or eligibility for Medical Technologist (MT) certification.

This role includes a sign-on bonus, structured in two installments: the first half upon hiring and the second half after six months of successful employment.

Key ResponsibilitiesTest Execution
  • Conduct precise testing of laboratory specimens following established protocols.
  • Assess specimens for suitability and address any issues with unacceptable samples.
  • Organize tasks to maximize efficiency and ensure timely completion of tests.
  • Verify the accuracy of results before reporting them.
Results Reporting
  • Timely reporting of test results in compliance with laboratory standards.
  • Document critical value notifications as per established procedures.
  • Communicate promptly with relevant healthcare providers regarding any alerts or discrepancies.
Quality Control
  • Adhere to quality control measures and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Perform regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Document all maintenance and calibration activities as required.
Safety and Compliance
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participate in training and orientation of new staff and students.
Professional Development

Engage in continuous education and training to stay updated with the latest laboratory practices and technologies. Actively participate in departmental quality assurance initiatives and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards.
