Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Dental Hygiene Instructor to join our team at Houston Community College. As an Adjunct Faculty Member, you will be responsible for teaching clinical courses and contributing to the educational environment of the college and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.
  • Provide learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives.
  • Contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community.
  • Participate in department, division, and college activities.
  • Develop and use a variety of innovative teaching methods and materials.
  • Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course objectives.
  • Keep accurate student records and submit related reports and forms.
  • Review, evaluate, and recommend student textbooks and learning materials.
  • Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional and program needs.
  • Use equipment and facilities responsibly and courteously.
  • Demonstrate competence and interest in the use of technology in the classroom.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher required.
  • Must be a graduate of a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) program.
  • Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist with a license in good standing to practice dental hygiene in the State of Texas or be able to obtain a license to practice Dental Hygiene in Texas upon employment.
  • 1 year college level teaching experience or 3 years related work experience required.
