Job Summary

As a Dentist in our Dental Hygiene Clinic, you will provide dental services to patients while meeting budgetary revenue and expense expectations for Clinic operations. You will also train and supervise clinic endeavors of student dental assistant externs working in the dental hygiene clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dental services to patients
• Meet budgetary revenue and expense expectations for Clinic operations
• Train and supervise clinic endeavors of student dental assistant externs working in the dental hygiene clinical practice
• Oversee radiographic prescription of all required prescriptive and diagnostic services as required by the State Board of Dental Health Care
• Provide student oversight, clinical evaluation and consultations as determined by the Dental Hygiene Program/Clinical Director and Clinic Coordinators
• Supervise care during medical emergencies
• Collaborate with Clinic Assistant, Clinical Director and Program Director regarding dental clinic
• Provide course and/or laboratory instruction as determined by the Dental Hygiene Program Director
• Attend scheduled clinical meetings
• Participate in faculty in-service training
• Support and communicate with Program / Clinical Director

Requirements

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution
• Current knowledge of the specific subjects taught
• Licensed or certified by the appropriate agencies as a dentist
• Three (3) years experience as a dentist preferred
• Must hold current dental licenses, certifications or other designations as required by local, state or federal laws to work in the field
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and dental computer software
• Any equivalent combination of training, education or experience that meets the minimum qualifications
