Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Open and inventory contents of evidence submissions, ensuring accurate records are maintained for case files.
  • Data Entry and Tracking: Enter accurate data into various database tracking systems, including laboratory numbers, case IDs, item numbers, and descriptions.
  • Chain-of-Custody: Create and utilize electronic or paper chain-of-custody forms for all evidence transfers, ensuring compliance with proper classification guidelines.
  • Research and Classification: Utilize database tracking and record systems to research incidents and determine appropriate classification designations.
  • Evidence Preparation: Prepare evidence submissions for processing by forensic and technical exploitation teams, including photographing contents and uploading photographs to local hard drives and databases.
  • Administrative Tasks: Review documents and photographs to ensure proper classification and dissemination markings are present, and prepare all administrative case records for final closure.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a science-related field.
  • Experience: One year of experience in a related field, with a strong background in forensic science and laboratory procedures.
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer data entry, coursework in forensics, attention to detail, and experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Clearance and Location
