About the Role

Academy of Visual and Performing Arts is a 6-12th grade tuition-free public charter school in Fort Worth, Texas. We seek an exceptional Visual Arts Teacher to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated educator with expertise in art education to teach visual arts classes to students in grades 6-12. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans that meet curriculum requirements, assessing student progress, and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and test data
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design arts-integrated, project-based learning experiences
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements for EC-12 Art and Junior High School/High School/Secondary/Grades 6-12/Grades 6-8/All Level: Art
  • Ability to lead, influence, and hold others accountable to high standards of academic and artistic excellence
  • Strong learning orientation and desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Successful criminal background check required
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role is based on the 2023-2024 Teacher Salary Schedule. We offer a competitive benefits package with comprehensive health benefits, relevant professional development, laptop computer, email, and all necessary supplies.
