Job Summary

The Assistant Nurse Manager plays a crucial role in the Medical/Surgical Pulmonary Renal Hospitalist unit at Albany Medical Center. This position requires a strong leader who can coordinate, plan, and manage administrative, financial, and operational duties in collaboration with the Administrative Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Manager, and Assistant Vice President of Specialty Nursing Division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor professional caregivers in the delivery of patient care and facilitate patient access, communication, and transitions throughout the acute care stay.
  • Provide leadership for direct patient care provided by specialty nursing unit staff on the assigned primary shift of work.
  • Assure that competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to customers, including referring facilities, hospital staff, and patients in inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, programs, and services consistent with the hospital's mission and departmental/unit vision and philosophy.
  • Provide direction and support to unit-based staff and collaborate with other service and department leaders toward attainment of short- and long-term goals and objectives.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of nursing principles and practices is essential, as well as the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
