Job Overview

Adecco is seeking a Cost Accountant to enhance our financial operations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the accounting and finance department, focusing on the analysis of inventory costs across various business sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage cost accounting practices and methodologies within the company's ERP system.
  • Develop product Bill of Materials (BOMs), routing, and item master data to establish and maintain standard costs.
  • Generate monthly reports and analyses to reconcile and validate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), gross margin, purchase price variance, and inventory fluctuations.
  • Coordinate physical inventory planning and execution.
  • Lead inventory accounting initiatives, collaborating with operations to enhance work order cost tracking and inventory precision.
  • Assist with general accounting tasks, including balance sheet reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
  • Supervise the Inventory Control Specialist, organizing and prioritizing their responsibilities.
  • Utilize strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments, including operations and product development.
  • Analyze and communicate cost and expense variances to management.
  • Collaborate with management on projects aimed at time and material savings.
  • Evaluate existing costing processes and recommend improvements.
  • Design and maintain various reports, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly summaries as well as ad hoc requests.
  • Continue to develop and implement the cost accounting inventory control process.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Strong analytical skills and capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Sage, Oracle, or NetSuite is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables.
  • Theoretical knowledge of FIFO accounting.
  • Customer service-oriented with a commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of 1 year in cost accounting and ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in cost accounting and analysis.
  • Completion of cost accounting coursework.
  • Ability to train team members.
  • Experience with NetSuite is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
Education:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Compensation: $70,000 to $80,000 annually.
