About This Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at GENESYS Health Alliance, a leading provider of healthcare services in correctional settings. As a correctional nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to detainees in a secure and safe environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine and emergency medical care to detainees, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and treating acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, taking into account their medical history, current health status, and treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, registered nurses, and other medical staff, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing screenings of detainees upon admission to the correctional facility, including assessing their medical history, current health status, and risk factors.
  • Explain medical procedures and treatment protocols to patients, ensuring they understand their care and treatment options.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
  • Current LPN licensure in the state of employment or ability to obtain license.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, including a drug screen and criminal background check.
