About the Role
Sedgwick is seeking a highly skilled Data Science Expert to join our team. As a Data Science Expert, you will partner with stakeholders to identify, scope, and execute advanced analytics and data science projects. You will design data modeling processes, build forecasting models, and share insights that inform and enable business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with operations, information technology, and other stakeholders to identify and scope data science projects.
- Design and implement end-to-end ETL (extract, transform, load) data pipelines integrating data from multiple data sources.
- Conduct data mining and statistical analysis for generating insights.
- Partner with both business and IT leaders to influence how the organization approaches and meets business challenges of an evolving customer base and changing marketplace.
- Prepare forecasting staffing models with high degree of accuracy and precision.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science or related quantitative field; Advanced degree preferred.
- Seven (7) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience to include five (5) years of data modeling experience with solid background in the fundamentals of exploratory data analysis, forecasting, and predictive modeling.
- Experience in design of data mining and machine learning algorithms for large datasets.
- Proficiency writing code in Python or R and documenting for reproducibility.
- Knowledge of modern cloud and data transformation tools such as Snowflake, Hex, dbt and Fivetran.
- Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
- Analytical and interpretive skills which translate to business solutions.
- Ability to create and complete comprehensive model documentation.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
