The National Security Agency (NSA) is currently accepting applications from high school seniors across the country for the Stokes Educational Scholarship Program. Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Stokes Educational Scholarship Program, applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Have a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities
  • Meet minimum SAT or ACT score requirements

For Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering majors, high school transcripts must show a minimum of one Physics or Calculus course, and a combination of two courses (minimum) of either Computer Science, Computer Programming or Engineering. For Mathematics majors, high school transcripts must show one Physics AND one Calculus course, and a combination of two courses (minimum) of either Computer Science, Computer Programming or Engineering. For Cybersecurity majors, high school transcripts must show a minimum of three years of coursework in cybersecurity or computer science.

Commitment and Benefits

Selected participants are required to work in their area of study at NSA after college graduation for at least one-and-a-half times their length of study. If you resign from the program prior to satisfying your commitment, you will be required to pay back the government for your tuition and mandatory educational fees. Students accepted into the program must maintain at least a 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale each semester/quarter in the freshman year and a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale each semester/quarter after the freshman year.
