Job Title: Network Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of a multinational Wide Area Network, including troubleshooting network incidents, providing networking expertise to multinational partners, and applying STIGs to all network devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot network incidents to resolution and document fix actions.
  • Provide networking expertise to multinational partners in an effort to improve network performance across the WAN.
  • Apply STIGs to all network devices.
  • Preparing and updating network topology diagrams.
  • Develop strategies to improve the overall health of the network.
  • Configure and install network equipment as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Current industry certification such CCNA, Security+ or above.
  • Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • US Citizen.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Cisco routing and switching.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Experience with BGP, ACL's, GRE tunneling.
  • Experience with SolarWinds.
  • Experience with Visio.
  • Experience with Type-1 encryption devices, such as Taclanes.
  • Experience working in or for the military.
  • Expertise in Multi-national Combatant Command-level military exercises, coalition networking supporting military operations, and/or Mission Partner Environments.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Effective data analysis and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
