This role will spearhead local, regional, and global sourcing initiatives to secure sustainable competitive advantages for the organization.

The position requires collaboration across various departments including Supply Chain, Operations, Research & Development, Finance, and Sales. The Lead Procurement Strategist will report directly to the Vice President of Procurement.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Formulate and execute category sourcing strategies that guarantee consistent supply and punctual delivery.
  • Serve as the primary strategist to harness organizational scale with a focus on continuous improvement and cost efficiency.
  • Achieve competitive pricing advantages through a thorough understanding of market dynamics, including relevant domestic and international macroeconomic factors.
  • Identify and assess sourcing opportunities while minimizing supply risks.
  • Manage Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for both local and global strategic suppliers.
  • Optimize the supplier base to ensure continuity, growth, and innovation.
  • Negotiate long-term supply agreements and oversee their implementation.
  • Oversee all contracts and master agreements, ensuring compliance with delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate logistics with suppliers, including inland and ocean freight, as well as import/export processes when necessary.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Quality Assurance to identify and approve new suppliers and materials.
  • Ensure that sourced ingredients meet established quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain supplier evaluation metrics and scorecards.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and work cross-functionally to meet business needs.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • 8-10 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, or a related field.
  • Preferred experience in agricultural sourcing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including management of Purchase Price Variance (PPV), Profit & Loss (P&L), continuous improvement, cash flow management, spend analysis, and supply/demand forecasting.
  • Experience managing supply chains effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of Import/Export and Trade Compliance.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities with the ability to influence and mentor others.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, and evaluate a robust supplier network.
  • Strong track record in contract negotiations and strategic sourcing.
  • Excellent project management skills supporting cross-functional initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to make informed decisions in complex and fast-paced environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems such as Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, and others.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time as required by business needs.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in food manufacturing.
  • 10+ years of experience in or with the food service industry.
