Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Claims Specialist to join our team at Village Pediatrics PC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for submitting medical claims to insurance companies and ensuring timely reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
  • Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
  • Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
  • Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount
  • Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancies in payments if necessary
  • Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances
  • Research and appeal denied claims
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Medical Biller
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Knowledge of pediatric medical billing procedures, ICD-10, CPT coding
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and medical office procedures
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and multitasking skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to cross train for answering phones, scheduling appointments
