Under the guidance of the school principal or designated authority, the Educational Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting with the supervision and instruction of students. This position involves performing administrative tasks and providing support to students both on and off campus, particularly in addressing special health care needs and fostering the development of daily living and behavioral skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the supervision and instructional activities for students.
- Perform clerical duties as required.
- Support students in meeting their health care needs.
- Aid in the development of students' daily living and behavioral skills.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and completion of at least two years of higher education; or possession of an Associate's degree or higher; or proof of passing a district-approved proficiency assessment.
Knowledge and Skills
- Familiarity with basic instructional techniques and classroom management strategies.
- Understanding of subjects such as arithmetic, reading, writing, grammar, and spelling.
- Proficiency in educationally related hardware and software tools.
