Senior Formulation Scientist, Pharmaceutical Innovations

Ingredion is seeking a Senior Formulation Scientist II to contribute to the design and market introduction of innovative products and solutions, as well as to provide support and resolve challenges associated with existing products and manufacturing processes within the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical sectors. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to drive multidisciplinary new application and product development through applied research and development initiatives in the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Excipient domains, executing defined project scopes with a degree of independence. This position will also involve enhancing the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical laboratory and pilot plant capabilities within the organization, including delivering necessary training and technical assistance to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with Business, Regulatory, Marketing, Technical Service, and other cross-functional teams to facilitate new product development and customer application projects in these sectors, while providing application expertise to these teams.
- Conducting experiments and trials in the laboratory and pilot plant, performing data analysis to derive conclusions and recommendations, and developing methods for evaluating the performance of Excipients and other Pharmaceutical/Nutraceutical technologies.
- Creating and delivering technical presentations to key stakeholders and external clients.
- Preparing technical project reports and presentations, and updating team and project stakeholders on project status, plans, milestones, and outcomes as required.
- Conducting prior art and literature reviews related to projects and maintaining appropriate documentation to support intellectual property development and patent applications.
- Building relationships with project teams to ensure alignment on project scope and timely completion of initiatives.
Qualifications:
- MS/BS degree in Industrial Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related fields with 3-7+ years of relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or Nutraceutical industry.
- Proven experience in product and application development, particularly in Tableting, Soft-gel/Hard-gel Capsule Applications, and syrup formulation.
- Innovative problem solver with a strong inclination towards invention and creativity.
- Experience in pilot plant operations and manufacturing support is advantageous.
- Familiarity with experimental design, statistical data analysis, and result interpretation.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce technical reports and deliver impactful presentations.
- Demonstrated capability to effectively communicate and collaborate across functions, influencing stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% as required.
