Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs, organizes, assesses, and delivers Athletic Training Services in alignment with the standards set by the NATA, the Athletic Training Practice Act, NYS DOH, and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals.
  • Delivers Athletic Training Services to the designated educational institution.
  • This role encompasses both office hours and event coverage.
  • Conducts comprehensive patient assessments, treatments, and educational sessions.
  • Supports wellness initiatives within the outpatient rehabilitation services department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited Athletic Training Program is mandatory.
  • Current NYS Licensure/Registration in Athletic Training is essential.
  • NATABOC Certification is required.
  • CPR Certification must be obtained within three months of employment.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as an Athletic Trainer is preferred.

Job Complexity:

  • The role involves diverse responsibilities that necessitate the Athletic Trainer to utilize skills effectively in managing sports-related injuries.
  • This includes prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  • Additionally, the ability to assess concussions and guide athletes through the graduated return-to-play protocol is required.
  • The Athletic Trainer must provide preventative strategies and injury management during athletic events and through contracted hours for external organizations.
  • Effective communication with athletes, parents, coaches, school officials, nurses, physical therapists, and physicians is crucial.

Compensation Range: $30.00 per hour
