About the Role

The Laundry Attendant is a key member of the Housekeeping Management Team, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the commercial laundry facility. This role involves sorting, cleaning, and storing linens in a timely and efficient manner to ensure the hotel's laundry and linen needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort and process soiled linens, inspecting for damage or stains
  • Operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturer's guidelines
  • Monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order
  • Fold and store clean linens, reporting any damages to the supervisor
  • Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures
  • Notify the supervisor when service is completed, and report any rooms unable to be serviced
  • Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor
  • Respond to guest complaints and special requests, ensuring corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction
  • Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all areas of the laundry and housekeeping
  • Handle all lost and found items according to established procedures
  • May assist with deep cleaning projects as needed
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services
Requirements
  • Previous commercial laundry experience is preferred
  • Background from the extended stay industry is beneficial
  • The ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred, other languages are beneficial
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities
  • Frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
  • Carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Will be required to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals
  • This role may require working afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Individuals may be required to wear an Indiana State Park Inns-provided uniform
  • Ability to hold effective communication with coworkers and guests and assist them as needed
