About the Role

The State of Indiana is seeking a skilled Laundry Attendant to join our team at the Indiana State Park Inns. As a key member of the Housekeeping Management Team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our commercial laundry facility, ensuring that our hotel's laundry and linen needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and store linens in a timely and organized manner
  • Operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturer's guidelines
  • Monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order
  • Fold and store clean linens, reporting any damages to the supervisor
  • Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures
  • Notify the supervisor when service is completed, allowing rooms to be sold or occupied
  • Report any needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor
  • Respond to guest complaints and special requests, ensuring corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction
  • Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all areas of the laundry and housekeeping
  • Handle lost and found items according to established procedures
  • May assist with deep cleaning projects as needed
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services
Requirements
  • Previous commercial laundry experience is preferred
  • Background from the extended stay industry is beneficial
  • The ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred, with other languages being beneficial
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities
  • Frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
  • Carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Individuals may be required to wear an Indiana State Park Inns-provided uniform
  • Ability to hold effective communication with coworkers and guests, assisting them as needed
