Position Overview

We are currently seeking an eCAD Librarian to oversee the integrity and operational efficiency of our Altium PCB CAD library. This role involves the meticulous management of schematic symbols and component footprints, ensuring they meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for the management of the Altium PCB Component Library.
  • Develop, modify, review, and authorize schematic symbols and PCB component footprints.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for eCAD component design.
  • Enhance design for manufacturing considerations, adhering to the sponsor's symbol organization and layer assignment conventions, while remaining current with PCB fabrication and SMT assembly techniques.
  • Support electrical engineers with schematic capture and layout design, handling PCB layouts that vary in complexity from two to twelve electrical layers, including high-density interconnects and blind/buried vias.
  • Incorporate feedback from engineers and production quality assurance to improve library components.
  • Mentor design teams on library maintenance and configuration management best practices.
  • Serve as a technical consultant for engineers and logisticians regarding PWB procurement.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an eCAD Librarian or PCB Layout Designer.
  • Proficiency in Mentor Graphics PADS or Cadence.
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer is essential.
  • Must possess and maintain an active federal security clearance, specifically TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to accommodate occasional extended work hours for urgent projects.
  • Prior experience in hardware-focused government contracts is advantageous.
