Position Overview:
Compensation starting at $19/hr
**SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE**
Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Compounding Specialist I is responsible for working in a sterile environment, compounding medications for at least 50% of their time to ensure safe, precise, and efficient compounding processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Duties (listed by significance and/or time allocation)
- Aids the pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications and supplies in accordance with company policies and state regulations.
- Accurately compounds medications to ensure correctness.
- Conducts fundamental pharmaceutical calculations to determine appropriate dosages.
- Properly labels and packages medications.
- Engages in the assessment, management, and reporting of medication-related incidents.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods.
- Monitors equipment and records any malfunctions or defects.
- Assists in documenting and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
Supervisory Duties
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
- Must possess the necessary licensure or registration as required by state law.
- Experience in delivering customer service to both internal and external clients, ensuring quality standards and evaluating satisfaction.
- Ability to perform basic and intermediate mathematical calculations.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
No travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful completion of the designated training program within six months of hire (if applicable).
- Prior experience in healthcare or as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
