We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Model Based Systems Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a senior systems engineer, you will provide advanced thought leadership and expertise to the development and evaluation of complex strategic deterrent systems. You will work closely with a talented team to develop and implement system models that support the development and integration of new strategic deterrent systems, as well as the modernization and sustainment of existing systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide systems engineering and MBSE thought leadership and expertise to the development and evaluation of complex strategic deterrent systems and supporting infrastructure.
- Work with an advanced team to develop and implement system models to support the development and integration of new strategic deterrent systems, as well as the modernization and sustainment of existing systems.
- Conceptualize, design, and develop new digital engineering capabilities and processes that will become force multipliers for APL and our sponsors.
- Apply your systems engineering expertise on requirements analysis, concept/technology development, architecture analysis, risk assessments, and test & evaluation for strategic deterrent systems.
- Deliver formal presentations to sponsors and supporting contractors, and effectively communicate proposed concepts/solutions and analysis results.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or related technical field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience performing systems engineering in the design, development and/or evaluation of complex systems.
- Experience in system modeling using UML/SysML and associated modeling software.
- Direct experience applying aspects of MBSE in support of system development.
- Broad systems engineering experience including early concept development, requirements analysis, design, test and evaluation, and risk assessment.
