Job Description

Job Summary

United Construction is seeking a highly skilled Preconstruction Project Manager to lead our preconstruction efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and direction of assigned projects, as well as preparing conceptual estimates for Design-Build, Design-Assist, and Negotiated industrial and commercial building construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and direction of assigned projects
  • Prepare conceptual estimates for Design-Build, Design-Assist, and Negotiated industrial and commercial building construction projects
  • Develop material take-offs, labor/equipment pricing for self-performed work and subcontractor budgeting
  • Review and validate subcontractor bids and proposed schedules
  • Assist Operations with developing project schedules
  • Lead the overall design and preconstruction process for assigned projects
  • Coordinate with design department on design schedules, issues, and resolutions
  • Coordinate the constructability review process
  • Track permit status of assigned projects and ensure timely acquisition of applicable permits

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and ten years of progressive commercial construction project management experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Sage Estimating software
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret building plans and specifications, contracts, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
