About the Role:

TEKsystems is seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Benefits Specialist to join our team in Spokane, WA. This exciting opportunity involves verifying insurance benefits and eligibility for new referrals, as well as performing monthly verification of DSHS coverage for long-term Medicaid patients and weekly verification for capitated Hospice patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance benefits and eligibility for all new referrals, ensuring accuracy and completeness of forms and reports.
  • Payer/Billing Information: Document payer/billing information in patient electronic records.
  • Initial Pre-Authorizations: Obtain initial pre-authorizations as required by insurance plans.
  • Physician Licensure: Verify physician licensure on an ongoing basis.
  • Additional Tasks: Assist in evaluating documentation to determine if patients meet criteria for therapy coverage, gather necessary information to ensure accuracy and completeness of forms and reports, create Cost Disclosure/Advance Beneficiary Notices for Medicare patients, track signed forms, generate benefits letters to inform patients/responsible parties of financial responsibility, enter new patient and physician data into the software database, including new therapy sessions for existing patients, enter ICD-9/ICD-10 codes as needed, obtain PCP referral requests and follow up, prepare hospital charity agreements and send and track patient financial assistance applications.

Requirements:

  • Reimbursement Experience: 1+ year of reimbursement experience.
  • Verification/Insurance Benefits Experience: 1+ year of verification/insurance benefits experience.
  • Computer Skills: General computer knowledge and skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
  • Medical Terminology: Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service skills.
  • Education: High school diploma/GED required.

  • Competitive Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 per hour.
