Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician 1 to join our team at the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. As an Ophthalmic Technician 1, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our ophthalmologists in delivering top-notch eye care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document various clinical tests and procedures, including visual fields, ocular motility, and intraocular pressure measurements.
  • Provide support to providers by documenting patient charts and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure patient safety and confidentiality by adhering to University of Miami policies and regulations.
  • Participate in clinical research and maintain required certifications.
  • Organize and stock rooms for daily clinical activities and travel to satellite eye centers as needed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience in ophthalmic services or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of ocular anatomy and function.
